To be or not to to be

Hamlet is one of the most performed play ever. Not only actors test themeselves by reciting the famous monologues of the melancholic prince of Denmark. There have been over fifty film and television versions of Hamlet, where the plot and Shakespeares' words have been adapted and changed according to the directors' intentions.

You are going to watch different videos where the actors perform the famous 'To be or not to be' soliloquy. Say which one you like the best and write a short paragraph (about 10-15 lines) to give reason of your choice.

As the text is quite hard to understand, this Italian translation might be handy for you.

Hamlet by Kenneth Branagh (1996)

Hamlet by Laurence Olivier (1948)

Shakespeare Solos by Adrian Lester

Hamlet by Zeffirelli (1997)
